Are you a serial 10k-er?
We don’t blame you! It’s a great race isn’t it?! Not too long. Not too short. Over 5 miles (YESSSS!) and taking around an hour to complete, a weekend 10k is manageable for many.

Think rolling Surrey hills, lofty summits and low off-road tracks through woodland. A pretty one for the first-time trail runner. Organised by AAT Events who specialise in Surrey-based challenges, this 10k is renowned amongst the locals for being one of the best x-country events in the race calendar. Read more.
YMCA North London Fun Run // 20 May // London // Road
Now in its 26th year, this has become the largest community event in North London. If you like running with others and fancy some feel-good vibes, then this one’s for you. It attracts thousands of runners of all abilities and has a kid-friendly 1k course as well. A great family event. Proceeds go to helping the homeless. They even give you doughnuts at the finish line! Lee Valley VeloPark 10k // 26 May // London // Off-road race track
Fast, predictable and perfect for a PB. What else would you expect from a race at the former home of the Olympics? Set in Lee Valley’s velopark, you do loops around the famous Moto GP circuit. A few short hills. Nothing too serious. A fast one for the pros; a predictable one for the beginners. Winning! Read more.
Regents Park 10k // 3 June // London // Off-road tarmac paths
A summer 10k wouldn’t be a summer 10k without a scenic park race. Intersecting the more adventurous ones with a fast, flat series race like this one will help you keep a check on that race pace. Read more.
Maverick INOV-8 Exmoor // 16 June // Devon // Off-road trails
If you don’t already live in Devon, this is one worth travelling for. A scenic undulating one along the famously long South West Coast Path. Organised by Maverick Race – the leading trail event organiser in the UK. A medal and a pint of Maverick’s iconic ale for all finishers. Trust us, you’ll need it. This is a toughy! Read more.
Brutal Bordon // 23 June // Hampshire // Off-road trails and swamps
Mud, hills, water and bogs. If those four words fill you with challenge joy then you’ll love this for a 10k! Renowned for being Brutal’s muddiest race, expect a lot of traction underfoot. No PBs here. Oh and ps, have a bin at the ready to put your race clothes in afterwards…Total. Glorious. Mud-fest. Read more.
London’s Greatest Relay Run // 30 June // London // Off-road tarmac
Remember the relay run at school?If you like challenging with pals and fancy a bit of old school baton-holding then you’ll love this. Ideal for twos and fours, but also open to solos if you wanna go the full stretch alone. Read more.

Calling all Londoners! Here’s an easy escape from the big smoke. Just a quick train ride away. No traffic, no roads. A small race, full of peace and quiet. A few hills and technical turn-y bits to keep testing your focus. Read more.

If you tried the Brutal Bordon earlier in the year, you’ll know what to expect from this little number. Expect to find yourself tackling boggy hills, wading through elephant grass and exploring shallow rivers. A bit like you’re venturing through the African savannah (minus the lions). Back Before Dark (Peak District Challenge 2018) // 22 September // Derbyshire // Off-road trails
Here’s something to finish off your summer season and get your autumn challenge juices flowing. The Back Before Dark 10k is part of the Peak District Challenge 2018. It starts at 6:06pm and runners have just one hour to get back before the sun sets. Set in the Peaks of Derbyshire it’s not an easy 10k. Expect tight turns and rocky bits.
